KALENDS

Our Calendar of Events for AUC 2760/1 (AD 2007/8)

MAJOR EVENTS

June 24-30, 2008 (Tuesday-Monday) -- "The Eagle on the Danube," First European Roman Festival in Svishtov, Bulgaria. Located near the Roman city of Novae, home to the First Legion Italica, Svishtov will play host to more than 200 Roman soldiers from many different countries and a similar number of Barbarians during this amazing event. Legio VI and Legio XX Valeria Victrix (MD) will represent the United States and are the first American Roman reenactment groups to participate as a unit in a European event. For more information, click HERE.

July 11-13, 2008 (Friday-Sunday) -- Old Fort MacArthur Days, the biggest multi-period military reenactment event in the western United States, held at the Fort MacArthur Artillery Museum, 3601 South Gaffey Street in San Pedro, CA. This is one of our big multi-day encampments each year. We will be defending the Esprit de Corps Award for best pre-gunpowder era encampment we won at the 2007 OFMD. For more details on this fantastic annual event, click HERE.

October 8-11, 2008 (Friday-Sunday) -- Marching Through History Expo at Prado Regional Park in Chino, CA. A timeline much like Old Fort MacArthur Days, this has always been one of the main events on our calendar. However, 2007's MTH was cancelled at the last minute due to some legal wrangling between reenactment groups, and its status for 2008 remains uncertain (the MTHE website seems to be down at the moment). For now, it is on our schedule and we very much hope that this wonderful event will resume this year.

LEGIO VI CAMARADERIE EVENTS

Fabrica, where we gather to work on personal and camp equipment, are normally scheduled the first or second Saturday of each month at the home of Arik Greenberg, 8312 Kittyhawk Ave., Westchester, CA 90045. Campus Martialis (drill and in-kit hikes) are normally scheduled the third Sunday of each month near the Bird Sanctuary (across from the entrance to the Greek theater) in Griffith Park.
