Old Fort MacArthur Days, AD 2008

Old Fort MacArthur Days 2008 (July 11-12) proved yet another triumph, with the biggest turnout, the most impressive program and the best organization yet. More than 30 Legio VI members showed up, some attending from as far away as Kentucky and Colorado. The new civilian Caupona tent was a big hit with everyone, and the drill team put on a dazzling show. It was also here that the first public announcement was made for the creation of the Museum of the Ancient Roman Soldier (MARS), an exciting new concept in public museums that will blend a display of genuine ancient artifacts with a large living history component that will allow participants to experience life in a Roman legionary camp. Overall, it was an amazing weekend. Kudos to all who participated!
