Old Fort MacArthur Days, AD 2007

Old Fort MacArthur Days 2007 (July 6-8) turned out to be Legio VI's best encampment in its storied history. Joined by a contingent of Legio X Fretensis  of Vallejo, CA, led by Primus Pilus Robert Garbisch,  we had 28 participants and an amazing array of impressions, including an appearance by the Emperor Hadrian (Tony Martos) and his entourage. The encampment marked the formal debut of Legio VI's new leather contuburnium tent, which along with Legio X's leather tent allowed many of our legionaries to sleep properly "under the skins." The camp also featured Bob Garbisch as a lanista training two buff gladiators and wielding a cat 'o nine tails on a thieving pirate! Once again Legios VI  and X won a signal victory, earning the 2007  Esprit de Corps Award for the event's best pre-Colonial Encampment. Thanks to Jared Fleury, Peter Hopkins, Arik Greenberg and and Laura Martos for the great photos.
